An individual or group (beneficiary) approaches Aalayam asking for financial help for their education. Their need is recognised as a cause by gathering all necessary information from the beneficiary and the educational institution..
If you are a student who comes from a disadvantaged background and are in deep financial need to continue your education click here to apply. Referrals are also welcome from those who know of such deserving students.
Our review committee will go through every detail about the cause. Upon verifying all the information and after a personal interview, we approve the cause for fundraising. The review process is designed to make sure that the hard-earned donor's money is offered to deserving students only. The review committee strictly follows the regulations and cannot be influenced.
Once the cause is published on the website, we share the cause with our supporters through social networks, email and phone. The more we share, the more we increase the opportunity to get help from people.
Donors can visit the Aalayam website and scan through the causes on display. With a click of the 'DONATE NOW' button, the desired amount can be paid. We don’t accept cash at any cost. No one is authorized to collect cash on behalf of Aalayam.
We do not accept donations from outside India as we are not a FCRA (Foreign Contribution Regulation Act) organisation.
We go in-person and pay the donations directly to the institutes on behalf of the beneficiary. No payments are given to the beneficiary or parents. All our payments are made only through bank cheque or demand draft (DD).
Every single donation to the cause is given 100% to the cause. The operating cost of Aalayam is funded by core members of the organisation.
